Minneapolis, Minnesota – Tyroler Leonard Injury Law, a Minnesota personal injury firm with offices in Minneapolis, Oakdale, and Willmar, has launched a redesigned Spanish-language team page introducing the nine Spanish speakers who work on its clients’ cases. The firm says the group, made up of three attorneys, three paralegals, and three legal assistants, is one of the largest Spanish-speaking departments of any personal injury firm in Minnesota.
For many Spanish-speaking Minnesotans hurt in car crashes and other accidents, the language barrier shows up long before a courtroom. The Minnesota Judicial Branch provides court interpreters at no cost during court proceedings, but many injury claims take shape well before a case reaches a judge, in calls with insurance adjusters, recorded statements, medical records requests, and settlement negotiations.
At Tyroler Leonard Injury Law, Spanish-speaking clients can speak directly with the attorneys and staff handling their case, with no interpreter in between. The firm says that access continues from the first intake call through settlement or, when a case goes to court, through trial.
The team includes Founding Partner Rachel Sperling Leonard, who is fluent in English and Spanish, and attorneys Charles Zuluaga, who previously worked as a Spanish interpreter at personal injury law firms, and Alejandro “Alex” Torres, who is fluent in Spanish and clerked in Minnesota’s First Judicial District before entering private practice.
Three paralegals support the attorneys in Spanish. Rachel L. Arata spent three and a half years working as a translator in Ecuador, Annia Cardozo is a native Spanish speaker, and Jessica Huerta works with clients in English and Spanish. Three bilingual legal assistants round out the group of nine.
“An injury claim depends on details, like what the other driver said, when the pain started, and what the doctor explained at the first visit. Those details can get lost when every conversation passes through an interpreter,” said Rachel Sperling Leonard, Founding Partner at Tyroler Leonard Injury Law. “Our Spanish-speaking clients should be able to tell their story in their own words to the people building their case, and understand every decision before they make it.”
The new Spanish-language team page presents the firm’s attorneys and staff in Spanish so prospective clients can see who will be working on their case before they call. It joins the firm’s Spanish-language home page, which explains the firm’s personal injury services for Spanish-speaking families across Minnesota.
The firm’s Willmar office serves west-central Minnesota, home to a large Spanish-speaking community, while its Minneapolis and Oakdale offices serve clients throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Consultations are free and available in Spanish at all three locations.
Tyroler Leonard Injury Law is a Minnesota personal injury firm founded by attorneys Isaac Tyroler and Rachel Sperling Leonard, with offices in Minneapolis, Oakdale, and Willmar. The firm represents people hurt in car and truck crashes, dog attacks, slip and fall incidents, and other accidents caused by someone else's negligence, as well as families pursuing wrongful death claims. Both founding partners are licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The firm works with clients in English and Spanish, offers free consultations 24 hours a day, and handles injury cases on a contingency fee basis, so clients pay no attorneys' fees unless the firm recovers compensation for them.
